My starbond strategy is basically to invest in any Starbond with an upcoming adjust, provided it has a dROI greater than 0.10 based on the current price of their next adjusting movie. This is a pretty low bar to meet, but I have a mega-port with nearly $4 billion in cash so what’s the problem?
The problem is that most traders, if they play Starbonds, don’t play them for movies more than a few weeks out, so I have to wait a long time for my expected gains, and in that time Starbond prices can fluctuate, and even move against the direction of the eventual adjust. Seeing this is frustrating for long-term starbond players like me, who feel that starbonds should move slowly and methodically towards their anticipated price, growing my port all the while.
This made me wonder, is it worth holding all of these Starbonds long-term? Or would I be better of trading them when (or slightly before) they come to traders’ attention?
I micromanage my Starbonds with a spreadsheet, so I have data on how much money I’ve made on my starbond investments, and also how much more I expect to make.I decided I’d try comparing this against when Starbonds are scheduled to have their next adjust, and figure out when other traders start investing in them.
Here are the results for the rest of 2010 – total investment is how much you need to invest in every Starbond adjusting that day and total gains is how much money I expect to make on those Starbond adjusts from the day of investment to the day of adjust. Realised gains is the % of total gains that is reflected as profit in my port. Unrealised gains is the % of total gains that I expect the Starbonds will make between now and the adjust.
