I understand that, but only because I've played bonds for years.
Here is my simplified version: The TAG is the Trailing Average Gross, or the average of the last five movies the actor is attached to that have delisted.
Pull up a starbond, such as Frank Grillo, FGRIL. Figure out his next adjusting film. Is it Donnybrook or Avengers? It's actually Donnybrook, and he will adjust after DNBRK delists roughly on May 15. It will replace CAPA2, since CAPA2 now slides to his sixth delisted film. Remember the TAG is the last FIVE.
Movies only count up to $250mm in the TAG, and since CAPA2 did $259mm, FGRIL will lose $50 (1 / 5 of CAPA2 BO) off his TAG, and basically add nothing because DNBRK did less than $1mm.
So, FGRIL next TAG will go to $80. So, should you buy or short FGRIL?
See if you can figure out what his TAG will be after his next adjust, which will be AVNG4 about a week later.
