Random, useless story: So, we have a soda can machine at work...
Has to be 20 years old. We had the soda companies program to stock it regularly, but eventually maybe 15 years ago, we stopped. So they say they will come pick up the machine. Fine, whenever. They never come for it. So I just assume they dont care, so it just sits there collecting dust. A few years later, someone comes out and says, they have a machine to pick up. I'm like, its been years, so.... Hes like oh it was in the old system or whatever. We will come get it. Never does! A few more years later, a rep (same/ different idk) comes out, theres a machine to pick up? Yeah, whats the deal? I dunno, maybe it was the last guy. I'll mark it for pickup. But guess what, no one comes! This is at least 3 but i think even 4 times over 15 years, that someone makes a trip to see if we have a machine to pick up, makes a note to pick it up, then never does. IDK. Today, a new wrinkle: a service tech comes out: Im here to service your machine. wtf man. I tell him this story (he seemed amused by it; im guessing you are not :P) but he takes a pic and sends to his boss and says he will set it up for pickup. I'm really doubting it but we will see.
Its such an old outdated machine, it cant possibly be of use to them. Is their inventory system that particular? I would just write it off. Anyways, it will be a pain if they actually do come for it, because I will have to move much stuff. Or I should just tell them they have to do it if they want it soo bad.
Its just silly that I'm dealing with this all these years!
