there were at least 2-3 separate reasons within that clusterfrak, that the US should have been awarded a penalty kick. Instead, the full blown dufus referee DQ-s the US goal that resulted even in the face of all those Slovenian transgressions. There was definitely no off-side.

The outcome of this must be either that the US is rewarded 3 points after the fact, that the referee never gets responsibility for another World Cup game, or indeed both of the above.
