Well, have the Idol judges learned their lesson tonight? Or does everyone, including dreadful Paul and Stefano, keep getting over praised?
Did you see the look in Stefano's eyes when it was announced that he was safe? He was shocked. EVERYONE was.
And it's the judges fault to a certain extent.
They've been praising everyone all season. Nobody gets a smack down. So based on their critiques there's no difference in artistic quality or vision between Casey or Paul, and then they have to use the save on Casey. They praise Stefano every week, like he's some great artist or something. He shouild have been gone a few weeks ago, along with Paul.
J-Lo was so upset tonight. Why would she be; has she already forgotten last night, when she offered Pia constructive criticism to "study the great ones", while all she said to Paul was that his performance was 'right in his lane". She didn't add, "your lane sucks though". No, she just praised him. There's no Simon Cowell dissing the talent, keeping things honest anymore. And so, already, in the first 4 weeks, 2 of the best contestants have been voted off (one was saved).
I feel bad for little Pia. She's adorable, and she can really belt it, and there's simply no way she deserved to be voted off this early. She should have had two more months to enjoy the ride that's AI, and soak up that adulation. Instead, we all get another week of Paul, Stefano, and a couple others that aren't in her class.
Bummer.

Actually the judges have NOT been judging. They treat all the contestants exactly the same, regardless of their talent. {nm} Apr 08, 09:04
