It would be cool if there were an index for the whole exchange.
Or just a display of the total market cap. It would be interesting to see if there were days, weeks or months when the entire market was moving in general in the same direction. I suppose one could accomplish this by creating an acccount and buying 1 share of every movie stock and buying every movie IPO. Of course the delisting of movies would effect the cap but over the long term it would give a good picture of the direction and valuation of the movie market.

It's not a meaningless number. Here's two meaningful clues an index would give: Nov 25, 11:35
