I keep seeing this... but, any increase in speed is just an illusion.
The crawl bar code always loads with a refresh, whether visible or not. Once loaded, it does not continue to draw in any new info; that is, it keeps cycling through the bits of info that came in with the last refresh. There is very little potential perceiveable speed increase; like, only with a stone age CPU, graphics card and memory.

Hiding the "ticker" crawl bars for me really seemed to help speed things up for me, personally. {nm} Jun 29, 13:28
