HSX won't be adjusting wide releases any longer
The prices of those wide release movies will be subject only to "market" forces - that is, people buying and selling the movie stocks. When people buy, the price will go up (depending on 'how' the HSX computer system determines the rise - which is a secret) or if more people sell, then the price will drop as well. Shorting stocks causes the price to drop, and covering them causes prices to rise.
There is no 'formula' any longer for determining the price of a movie stock - as I mentioned above, it's determined only by what traders think the movie will make during it's opening weekend, and subsequent delist at 4 weeks (for wide releases).
