just my nonofficial 2 cents, but I remember someone sharing with me some internet etiquette way back in the late 90s when I first went onlin
If one wants to join a forums, lurk for a month to get a feel for the styles of the people already there. By doing this players can see the various trends and traditions.
Then if there are still questions, find the appropriate place to ask questions (players board)
There will always be older players chastizing new people like you mention, but there will also always be others who will help
remember, we were all newbies at one point (so people have caught on to the style here without too much trouble)
i doubt hsx would ever do an official page of board traditions, maybe one of the vets could do something in terms of a league for this type thing. perhaps all vets should be more proactive in helping along newbies
and as a last resort, people can play hsx without participating in the forums :P
