Or something to that effect.  I've given up IPO's...and movies for the most part (the times I play 'em bites me in the **** all too frequently.)  So I'm laying it safe with bonds 'til things return to normalcy.

The IPO system blows.

Saturday night halt stinks.

Day Trader's rule the roost.

The game has changed and I don't think it's for the better.  But I seem to be in the minority so I'll adjust as I need for the sake of competition.  Doesn't mean I like it.

HSX really needs to go back to the old IPO system where stocks halt until reset. secretstalker Mar 03, 04:58

And HSX still hasn't addressed the issue that one person buying/shorting/selling a stock can affect the price. secretstalker Mar 03, 05:00

That was the whole reason for the change. We want price movements to be more granular. Antibody Mar 03, 10:08

Also, another IPO has 11 to 1 shorts than longs and that goes down just .39 at reset? That makes sense. {nm} secretstalker Mar 03, 05:45

Repeat, trading affects price movement, not shares held. {nm} Antibody Mar 03, 10:09

Here is where we do not understand what we thought we knew in the past.... Buy StarBondFund (EURO too) Mar 03, 13:18

Your assumption is/was wrong. :) {nm} Antibody Mar 03, 17:09

So why create the Cantor Exchange, where stock prices actually are affected by people selling/buying... secretstalker Mar 04, 03:00

CX was going to be the real money. As I explain below, this is how IPO and trading in the real world works. Antibody Mar 04, 09:31

You just don't get my point. secretstalker Mar 07, 06:51

You just don't or refuse to get it. The real market start with limited million of shares at the IPO price, which HSX mimics by freezing Antibody Mar 07, 10:26

I just don't understand why shares shorted/sold aren't considered in the limited IPO and only shares bought. secretstalker Mar 07, 11:00

That's also how shorts in the real stock market work. They are merely "borrowed" shares. {nm} Antibody Mar 07, 14:30

Remember when the changes were made..."we'll be watching the boards, so post your thoughts" Ramdadof3 Mar 03, 06:46

The trading mechanism would be exactly the same. You just didn't notice it before when the shares held were not revealed. {nm} Antibody Mar 03, 10:15

I've just long believed that the way the stock market works is that when you have more buyers than sellers/shorters, price should go up. secretstalker Mar 03, 13:32

A set of traders get the initial IPO price just like in the real market. Then market forces take over just like in a real market. Antibody Mar 03, 17:13

Interesting... {nm} Catzan Mar 03, 17:52

Your best comment on the situation ndmaster Mar 03, 11:48

what the reset traders do is usually balanced out by reasoned trading later in the day anyhow {nm} jane_citizen Mar 03, 15:00

Yes, instead of ****ing, we need to look at them as opportunities, especially if there is no reason for the moves! {nm} ndmaster Mar 04, 08:15

I am not reset trading much anymore...I've done it once since spending more time back here. This is about fake money and strategies to make Catzan Mar 03, 17:50
