Bartleby is a modern retelling of the Herman Melville classic 'Bartleby the Scrivener'. Crispin Glover stars as Bartleby, a newly hired clerk at a public records company who loves to file. However, his boss (played by David Paymer) soon becomes exasperated with him when he refuses to perform any other task. After finding him living at the office, the boss fires Bartleby, to no effect. There seems to be no way to get rid of Bartleby. Former musician Jonathan Parker makes his feature film directorial debut from a script he co-wrote with Catherine di Napoli.
