Description

The teen drama Donnie Darko, which mixes sci-fi and teen romance factors, will star Jake Gyllenhaal (October Sky). Gyllenhaal plays an intelligent 16-year-old from an average, middle-class family who escapes death in a freak accident. He is given 28 days more of life before he must relive the accident that almost cost him his life. Drew Barrymore, who will be executive producer, is expected to play a minor role in the project that will be produced through her company Flower Films. The film is Richard Kelly's directorial debut.
