A film set at the end of the millennium, End of Days features plenty of the apocalyptic musing that makes for great special effects. Jericho Cane (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is an ex-cop who is now in charge of a private New York security firm. On the eve of the 21st century, Satan (Gabriel Byrne) comes to earth in search of a bride, and decides upon a woman whom Cane knows. Faced with a nearly invincible villain, Cane must regain faith in himself to save humanity and conquer the ultimate evil. Peter Hyams, whose last feature was 1997's The Relic, is the director.
