Clive Owen, popular star of Croupier, returns with the film Greenfingers. Joel Hershman writes the story of a group of prison inmates, in a British prison, who take up gardening as a rehabilitation activity. Owen and David Kelly play the inmates who eventually find themselves in the prestigious Hampton Court Power Palace Show.
Hershman also assumes directorial duties on the film as Helen Mirren and Danny Dyer round out the cast. Release date is set for late 2000 or 2001. Greenfingers will be previewed at the 2000 Toronto Film Festival in September.
