Thawing out Hollywood's cold slump at the weekend box office, Frozen 2 [FROZ2] debuted to an estimated $127.0 million, the fifth highest November opening of all times. Frozen 2 topped the previous $70.4 million record for an animated film set by The Incredibles. Families made up 79% of the audience, which was 60% female.
Last weekend's champ, Ford v Ferrari [FOVFE] finished second at $16.0 million, down 49% in its second weekend. The racing drama has totaled $57.0 million.
