Sony has finally dropped the official teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Far From Home [SPID7], which SPOILER ALERT, shows that Peter Parker and Nick Fury survived the events of Avengers: End Game.  Tom Holland [TOHOL] stars in the second solo outing after Spider-Man: Homecoming, joined by his classmates on a European vacation.  Jake Gyllenhaal [JGYLL] plays the villain Mysterio, who appears to be playing hero as he fights elemental creatures attacking European cities.  Spider-Man: Far From Home...

Outperforming expectations to become STX's first number one film, The Upside [NTCHB] banked an estimated $19.6 million to lead the weekend box office.  The comedy drew 59% female and 74% aged 25 or older. 

Aquaman [AQUMN] was dethroned to second with $17.9 million, bringing its sum to $287.9 million after four weekends.

A Dog's Way Home [DOGWH] found $11.3 million to debut at the third spot.  The family film appealed to a broad audience that was 52% female and 51% over 25.

Three new films jump into the box office pool along with a couple of wide expansions, but none is likely to knock off Aquaman [AQUMN] from its throne. Aquaman looks to bank another $17 million, which should be enough to win a fourth weekend.

Bleecker Street has unveiled the full-length domestic trailer for Hotel Mumbai [HTLMB].  Dev Patel, Armie Hammer, Nazanin Boniadi, Anupam Kher, and Jason Isaacs star in thriller based on the true story of the 2008 siege by terrorists on the Taj Hotel in Mumbai, India. Hotel Mumbai  opens wide on March 22nd.

Universal has revealed the official trailer for the comedy Little [LITLE], basically an age and sex reversal of the classic Big. Regina Hall [RHALL]  and Marsai Martin star as the adult and young versions of a tech mogul who wakes up as a 13-year-old in her adult surroundings.  Issa Rae plays her assistant April who is the only one who knows the secret.  Little drops on April 12th.

Reigning for a third weekend in a row with an estimated $30.7 million, Aquaman [AQUMN]  has massed $259.7 million.  The superhero who can talk to fish has become the highest grossing film worldwide in the DC Extended Universe.

Escape Room [TMAZE] debuted in second place with $18.0 million. Audience for the thriller was evenly split between the sexes and 53% over the age of 25.

Mary Poppins Returns [MPOPN] finished third at $15.8 million, bringing its total to $138.7 million.

A new horror film typically kicks off the first weekend of the new year and 2019 is no exception. However, holdovers will continue to dominate led by Aquaman [AQUMN]. The DC superhero looks to cross $250 million with a third weekend around $27 million.

Mary Poppins Returns [MPOPN] is showing great legs through the holiday period. The Disney musical should haul in another $20 million during its third outing.

The top five films from last weekend carried over to the same positions for the final weekend of the year as Aquaman [AQUMN] remained king of the box office with an estimated $51.6 million.  The DC Comics superhero slipped 24% in its second weekend to advance its total to $188.6 million.

Mary Poppins Returns [MPOPN] gained 19% from its opening weekend to stay second with $28.0 million.  The Disney musical has earned $98.9 million.
