The nominees for the 84th Academy Awards have been announced. Hugo picked up 11 nominations to lead the ceremony followed by The Artist with 10 nods. Nine films secured an Oscar nomination for Best Picture in the first year where the selection can vary from five to ten. With this year’s NominOptions, traders successfully predicted 75% of the Oscar nominees in the top eight categories.

Sony Pictures Classics has debuted the first trailer for the comedic drama Darling Companion [DCOMP] from writer-director Lawrence Kasdan. Kevin Kline [KKLIN] and Diane Keaton [DKEAT] star as an empty nest couple who rescues a dog. When it goes missing after a wedding at their vacation home in the Rockies, they enlists the help of their guests in the search that results in unexpected emtional journeys for all. Darling Companion opens limited on April 20th.
The fourth film in Sony's vampires and werewolves series Underworld: Awakening [UNDW4] grossed an estimated$25.4 million. The audience skewed older males while 3D accounted for 59% of the business.

It's Superbad meets The Hangover as three high school outcasts try to make a name for themselves by throwing a party no one will ever forget. What could possibly go wrong does go wrong. Without a recognizable star in the cast, Warner Bros. is promoting the found-footage film with quotes pulled from test screenings as well as through social media.
After skipping the third film in Sony Screen Gems’ vampires vs. werewolves franchise, Kate Beckinsale [KBECK] returns for the fourth film Underworld: Awakening [UNDW4].
