Karl Urban [KURBA] plays a man who could be friend or foe. Didn't they watch Turistas or The Human Centipede?

The Weinstein Co. has unveiled the trailer for the romance drama Blue Valentine [BLUVL], which they picked up at this year's Sundance Festival and promptly gave away their other Ryan Gosling romance All Good Things [AGTHN]. Gosling [RGOSL] and Michelle Williams [MWILL] star as a couple trying to save their marriage. Told in past and present moments in time, the couple spend one night bringing back memories of their courtship and romance. Blue Valentine has just been rated NC-17 by the...
Seven years after his last film Master & Commander: The Far Side of the World hit theaters, director Peter Weir [PWEIR] is back with The Way Back [WAYBC]. Judging by the trailer, the sweeping epic looks to be well worth the wait. Inspired by a true story, a group of prisoners in 1940 escape a Soviet gulag in Siberia and journey towards British-held India thousands of miles away across Asia. Colin Farrell [CFARR], Jim Sturgess [JSTUR], Ed Harris [EHARR] and Saoirse Ronan [SRONA] star in...
Two of Hollywood’s mainstay storylines match up this weekend at the box office: the high-concept romantic comedy Life As We Know It [LAWKI] against the inspirational sports drama Secretariat [SCTRT]. Katherine Heigl [KHEIG] and Josh Duhamel [JDUHA] are the main draw for the Warner Bros. film about two people who hate each other, but end up together to raise their dead friends’ baby under one roof. The PG-13 rated film looks to have the highest appeal among teenagers and the date crowd. ...
Fox Searchlight has released the full theatrical trailer for the based-on-a-true-story drama 127 Hours [127HR] on Apple. The new footage offers a better look at how Danny Boyle [DBOYL] conveys the dire isolation and mental anguish faced by Aron Ralson, played by James Franco [JAFRA], as he is stuck alone in a Utah canyon for five days without any hope of rescue.By examining his life, he is able to find the courage to free himself by sacrifcing his arm.
CBS Films has uploaded a redband trailer for the revenge action film Faster [FASTR]. I applaud Dwayne Johnson [TROCK] for putting away the tutu and returning to his roots in action films, but this looks terrible. There's nothing heroic about shooting defenseless people between the eyes, even if they are really, really bad men.
Miramax has released the theatrical trailer for the latest adaptation of William Shakespeare's The Tempest [TMPST] on Apple. Directed by Julie Taymor [JTAYM], the fantasy romance has switched the gender of Prospero to a sorceress played by Helen Mirren [HMIRR] and utilized modern CG special effects to update the supernatural story about vengeance and forgiveness. Even if the story appears to be incomprehensible. the film itself looks to be a visual feast.
After interviewing a shortlist of directors, Warner Bros. has decided to stay within the family and selected Zack Snyder [ZSNYD] to direct the next Superman [SUPR2]. The filmmaker previously worked with the studio on 300, Watchmen, Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole as well as the upcoming Suckerpunch. Snyder's dynamic, visual style should update the big blue Boy Scout with a gritty, contemporary edge missing in the 2006 restart Superman Returns. Overseeing the Superman ...
After just debuting the teaser last week, Paramount has quickly followed up with the full theatrical trailer to the western remake True Grit [TGRIT]. Maybe I've been playing too much "Red Dead Redemption", because this totally reminds me of the bounty hunter mission where John Marston rides around the declining Old West looking to capture an outlaw.
