Sony Screen Gems has debuted the first trailer for Burlesque [BURLS] starring Christina Aguilera in her feature debut. Following in the dance steps of Flashdance, Honey and Showgirls, Burlesque is the latest drama about a small town dancer trying to succeed in the professional dance world of the big city. Cher, Kristen Bell [KBELL], Cam Gigandet [CGIGA], and Stanley Tucci [STUCC] co-star in the hoofer drama that hopes to feed off the nation's fascination with Dancing with the Stars.
Miramax has unleashed the first teaser for the horror remake Don't Be Afraid of the Dark [AFRAD] produced by Guillermo del Toro. The films looks like a return to genuine cinematic terror using traditional scare tactics rather than bloody gore or CG spectacle.
Three new movies underperformed as the sci-fi thriller Inception [INCPT] stayed at the top spot for the third weekend in a row. The heist movie set within dreams hauled in another $27.5 million to bring its cumulative tally to $193.3 million.
Dinner for Schmucks [SHMUC] rang up an estimated $23.3 million to debut in second place. Audience reaction to the comedy was mixed so box office legs could be short with competition from another guy-oriented comedy next weekend.

Three new films aimed at different demographics join the weekend box office this weekend. However, none look to have an audience broad enough to topple two-time reigning champion Inception [INCPT]. The dreamy thriller has enjoyed the best word of mouth of the summer. Inception should decay around 35% to $27 million with a strong chance to three-peat at the top.
Paramount’s Dinner for Schmucks [SHMUC] looks to have the best opening amongst the new contenders. Steve Carell [SCARE], Paul...
The five minutes of footage shown at the San Diego Comic-Con for Marvel's superhero adaptation Thor [THOR] is now online. It's hard to strike a balance between mythological fantasy and real-world science, but from the looks of the trailer director Kenneth Branagh [KBRAN] and CHris Hemsworth [CHEMS] as the Norse god may have pull it off.
Warner Bros. has released the teaser trailer for the 3D family film Yogi Bear [YOGIB] and it's as good/bad as it one would expect. The CG animated bear Yogi is voiced by Dan Aykroyd [DAYKR], while his campanion Boo Boo sounds like Justin Timberlake [JTIMB] on helium. Not even Anna Faris [AFARI] can make this palpable for any adult without kids.
Why fight the crowds at the San Diego Comic-Con when the studios just put the trailer online on Monday? The Sucker Punch [SUCKP] footage shown is now available at Apple. Directed by Zack Snyder [ZSNYD], Sucker Punch looks like a live-action Japanese anime on acid.
Debuting over the weekend at the San Diego Comic-Con, the 30 second teaser trailer for 3D film Drive Angry [DRVAN] is now online. Nicholas Cage [NCAGE] with bad hair, check. Hero walking towards the camera with explosion in the background, check. Car driving through ha chain-linked gate, check. Hero shooting out the driver of an on-coming car head-on, check. It's good to know that an action movie in 3D is just as cheesy and cliche as it ever was in 2D.
Overture may have its biggest hit just as it's going out of business. The domestic trailer for Let Me In [LTRON] which debuted at the San Diego Comic-Con is now online. The vampire thriller is a remake of the Swedish film Let the Right One In and from the looks of the trailer a near shot for shot remake. Kick-Ass's Chloe Moretz [CMORE] stars with The Road's Kodi Smit-McPhee [KSMCP].
Even after a bockbuster opening weekend, phenomenal word of mouth propeled Inception [INCPT] to tail off just 31% to an estimated $43.5 million in its second trip. That's a decay rate usually seen only during the holiday season. The original sci-fi thriller with its simultaneous storylines set within multiple dreams has already secured $143.7 million.
Sony's Salt [ESALT] debuted in second place with a strong $36.5 million. Though most summer action films draw a young male crowd, the...
