As part of Cantor's increasing investment in HSX, we are providing monthly updates to keep you informed about the latest game play improvements.
Our Mission and Vision: An Active Trading Community and Accurate Box Office Predictions
For many years HSX has fulfilled its mission to be one of the most important and academically acclaimed websites for the crowd sourcing of information. Throughout the history of HSX, you and other loyal traders have consistently provided accurate insights into the box office potential of upcoming films.
Our vision is to increase the importance and influence of HSX by expanding the trading community and facilitating the predictive accuracy of HSX markets. Therefore, we are moving steadily and carefully to make HSX more like a real-world marketplace where knowledge, market diligence and attention to capital deployment are rewarded. To that end, we are providing more information and transparency about the underlying market, including total shares held and volume traded.
Are Game Play Changes Necessary?
Over the last 10 years, the core HSX user community has become much more sophisticated about box office predictions. We are very confident that by allowing pure market forces to have an increasing role in predicting box office results HSX will become more exciting and trading profits will be more predictable.
What's Next?
In addition to the changes announced last month, we will be making further improvements over the course of the first quarter of 2011. We have posted a list of the upcoming site changes on the HSX forums.
