Totally hear you on day trading.
I've only been able to do it because it's "Summer Slowdown" here at work, so it's be easy for me to buy in the early AM hours, monitor during the day, and sell as I leave the office. That said, it's not going to last forever. The funds are a good suggestion, however, to put so-called surplus H$.
