Stocks That Shoot Up

     Question  Maybe I'm missing something here.

      Some of today's top peforming stocks, Beauty and The Beast, Deepwater Hoeizon, etc. 

       These stiocks seemed to have jumped today, for no speicific reason.   There wasnt a release date or Star of a movie announced today, and no movie phase changes, etc.

        Why is it that a stock just seemingly shoots up on a certain day for no reason.   Is it also true that.. sometime.. when a stock shoots up on a day for seemingly no reason, it is likely tol crash shortly after?
