Your inclination is admirable, but my experience indicates execution is predictably counterproductive.
I have observed this with respect to clients who shield children from all hardship, consequences, and responsibility. When it is time for the child to stand and perform (perhaps at age 20, perhaps at 40, perhaps at 60) without a crutch, the beneficiary is unable. The self-aware among them tend to develop diminished self-esteem in addition to being chronic failures.
