What is the practical application of the HSX tool on theun4gven?

I admit that it's neat being able to see how the securities have moved up and down during the day, but what are some practical examples of how to use this to turn a profit? Perhaps I'm being dense and it should be fairly obvious, but I'm not quite getting it on my own.
