There is a lot of information on the fansites. I'm not sure what's going on with Project Genome, but The Numbers still has great bond charts. The HSX Dude has been posting some interesting stuff lately.
One good strategy for learning about the market quickly would be to play the openers and the Award Options, because those are highly volatile, and there is a lot of information available out there about those movies.
Also, I think there have been some academic studies done on HSX; check out the press releases section.
