Buying a PUT and when to sell or wait for cashout.
Question for you. I understand that if you buy shares in a $25PUT and the movie makes under $25mil say it makes $24mil. Then it pays out at $1 a share. The max is 20,000 shares right? Thats only $20,000. Is that on top of the value of the PUT before it was halted? The reason why i ask is I currently I have 20,000 shares of HOP $25PUT bought at $1.56 and it is currently worth $38,800. So if HOP only makes $24mil opening weekend do I lose $18,800? Or is the $1 a share on top of what the shares were worth when trading was halted? This of course would mean that the shares of the PUT were worth $38,800 at time trading was halted.

if you have 20000 $25 put shares that you bought at $1.56 each, and IHOP makes $24 o.w, you would lose Mar 31, 14:28
