Washington made the biggest goof of all. He NEVER should have pulled Neftali in the 10th. That probably cost them the World Series.

Yes, he blew the save in the 9th. But he's far and away the best pitcher you have in the pen at that point, and it is not close. You have t give him another shot in the 10th. You have to.

You could see all the susequent Ranger pitchers staring at home plate like they were staring straight into the gates of Hell, and they most definitely could not stand what they were seeing.

Now they are in big, big trouble, with Carpenter going tonight. And all the momentum in the world has swung against them.

This was NOT on the Ranger players nutting up at the plate. They repeatedly came up big at the plate, grabbing the lead 3 different times. The pitching finally caught up to them at the worst possible time.

Wow, to be 1 strike away. TWICE. What an epic, epic fail. Right now I'm thinking this is over, and that the Cardinals will win handily tonight. But that's why they play the games. I would be quite impressed if the Rangers can turn around in 18 hours and win this now. I'll be the first to say great job if that happens.

Being an Angel fan, I'm very impressed by Texas, I see them all the time. They have a great lineup, and it looks like they'll be contending for the next several years. But you cannot squander these opportunities. There is simply no guarantee that you will EVER be back in the series again. And they had that chance multiple times tonight and couldn't do it.

What a game, what a World Series! And bad news for Friday box office, Game 7's rating will be big {nm} xiayun Oct 27, 21:43

Sorry, but what? {nm} firedeep Oct 27, 21:47

Baseball. {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Oct 27, 21:47

The world series is on? Who's playing? {nm} mrbeankc Oct 27, 21:47

Best series in recent memory. I was going to go to the movies tomorrow but not anymore. {nm} HarryWarden Oct 27, 21:47

Incredible stretch from '01-'03...been really boring/uncompetitive Series since. {nm} GMov Oct 27, 22:01

Will it really effect the box office a noticeable amount? {nm} HarryWarden Oct 27, 21:50

It's not the Superbowl, after all. {nm} HarryWarden Oct 27, 21:50

The series is on pace to be the lowest rated World Series ever. Game 4 had a 9.2 rating which is about what Sunday Night Football gets {nm} mrbeankc Oct 28, 01:31

I don't suspect it will affect gato en botas, not really the crowd... {nm} PRodQuanta Oct 27, 21:55

Ah, clever wording there... ;) {nm} accountant_4_Jesus Oct 27, 21:56

I was planning on seeing it, but no way in hell I miss a Game 7 {nm} tribefan695 Oct 27, 21:57

Certainly wont be nearly as big as Superbowl, but will be noticeable imo {nm} xiayun Oct 27, 21:56

That was truly incredible. I rank it with game 6 in '91, game 7 in '91, game 4 of '04 ALCS, and game 7 '01. Truly remarkable. {nm} GMov Oct 27, 22:00

Game 7 of '91 was amazing. Amazing. This game was right up there. {nm} HarryWarden Oct 27, 22:01

Maybe I'm getting caught up in the moment, but I think that was the best world series game ever! {nm} PRodQuanta Oct 27, 22:02

The early errors tarnished it a bit, I think. But everything from the 7th inning on was pure awesomeness. {nm} tribefan695 Oct 27, 22:03

Game 6 that year too was great...Kirby hit a walk-off HR. But, game 7 was a top 10 sporting event of all time in my opinion. {nm} GMov Oct 27, 22:02

As an LA guy, nothing will ever beat the Gibson HR...or (in 2nd place) the Angels comback in game 6 of '02. Spezio/Erstad/Glaus/Anderson {nm} GMov Oct 27, 22:03

Still trying to forget about '02. Stupid thunderclapper sticks. Stupid rally monkey. Stupid Angels. Barf! =) {nm} Austinmh Oct 28, 02:22

Here, here. As a lifelong baseball fan, these are the kinds of games I dream of seeing and they happen so rarely in the World Series. The ShawnMR Oct 27, 22:03

I'm watchin replays on baseball tonight and it still gives me chills. {nm} PRodQuanta Oct 27, 22:09

I hate the Cards and live in Texas now.. was definitely pulling for the Rangers. Pretty epic collapse. :( {nm} MiyazakiFan Oct 27, 23:22

Haha, sweet post. I agree, big mistake to take out Feliz. {nm} PRodQuanta Oct 28, 00:25

What I don't get is why they call it the World Series when only American teams play in it. accountant_4_Jesus Oct 28, 04:54

Essentially a marketing slogan used for some of the first championship series in the early 20th century that stuck... theun4gven Oct 28, 05:52

Don't forget Canada! {nm} PRodQuanta Oct 28, 10:30

The majority 45+ year old baseball audience doesn't go to the movies Friday night anyway. {nm} BionicMoron Oct 28, 05:59
