If the movie is anything like the musical (which I saw and loved), then the marketing has been way off.

The musical was more focused on the rock aspects. Great classic rock music, and self-referential humor.

Lots of breaking the fourth wall as well, which will likely be cut from the film. Russel Brand's character played a much bigger role in the musical than he seems to be getting in the film.
