FYI, the last year we had July 4th fall on a Wednesday was 2007. The top opener that year was Transformers 1 which opened on Monday the 1st

with previews totalling 8.8 mil. Its Monday-Thursday total was 84.9; its Fri-Sun total was 70.5. That means its 7 day total was 155.4.  Take away the previews, and its 6 day total was 146.6.

The adjust for the 7 day opening was 275.25. The question is, with 3d and IMAX surcharges, will this reboot be able to punch past those numbers?
