records are there to be broken, but common sense says something has to give this weekend otherwise we are looking at a top 10 grossing near $200m....massive

I find the idea that there may be an element of 'double counting' going on with the tracking numbers quite persuasive - in other words that people polled have expressed a definitie interest in several releases, but realistically can only get out to see one over the weekend. I have not been keeping tabs on tracking numbers long enough to know whether accuracy suffers when there are several big titles kicking around? or whether tracking is actually more accurate for the banner titles like Twilight...

I do notice that Planet 51 has dropped some way from the low 20's of the past few weeks. I thought those numbers over priced it, and with the sheer volume of titles out there it could be one to underperform even these lower numbers.

Precious has the foundation of buzz, hype and a great per theatre average going into the weekend, of all of them it looks safe to hit these numbers to me.

Will be interesting to see where MTC put the different titles.
