emotionally abused by her mother. All well and good that it's surprised a bit so far, but now it's actually up against Twilight: New Moon, as competition for those emo tweens or whoever goes to see Precious, and there is competition from The Blind Side as well.

The way it's expanding, it's been shown in big cities so far, where it draws a mixed audience of arthouse crowds and inner city crowds (afro-americans mostly, perhaps). In how many cities are there the same conditions required for it to keep churning out massive per theater averages?

I'm thinking it's hitting saturation in some of its established markets, and that it will fall through a lot more in some of the markets it's expanding into. Can't forget that it goes up against Twilight: New Moon this weekend - a challenge it hasn't met before.
