The Iceman- A+, This is the End- A, I Declare War- B+, 13 Tzameti- A+, Room 237- C, Only God Forgives- D, Hangover 3- F, Disconnect- A
The Iceman (A+)- I really can't get enough of theweirdness that is MISHA and haven't found a flick of his yet that I didn't love. Add Ray Liotta to the mix and I'm loving it.
This is the End (A)- I know it's stupid stuff, but I thought it was HIlarious. I seriously could watch Michael Cera play "off" character all day and keep laughing.
I Declare War (B+)- At first I was wanting to compare it to "Stand By Me" but by the end I was thinking a lot more along the lines of "Lord of the Flies". It's close to as good as the former and well better than the latter. My favorite quote of the year comes from this flick- "Blow him a kiss. Then blow him away"
13 Tzameti (A-)- Not a new flick, but a really good one. I'm a fan of spartan stripped down thriller/horrors though.
Room 237 (C)- Really disappointed in this one because I looked forward to it for a while. I think I expected too much. Turns out it was mostly weak conspiricy theory stuff.
Only God Forgives (D)- I'm starting to think that I need to stop watching Ryan Gossling movies. Cat can't outact Keanu and Keanu has a much better knack at finding solid scripts to compensate.
Hangover 3 (F)- I don't know why I bothered. It was tired by the 2nd and, although the 3rd seemed like it was not even related to the first 2, it also sucked.
Disconnect (A)- I really liked this movie. Solid acting across the board and the right cast to do it. Of all the movies that I had been waiting for, this and The Iceman were the payoffs.
