It seems quite amazing to me that they'd buy portfolios - do you mean before Cantor Fitzgeralf bought HSX in 2001?
I can imagine in the early days, they might have thought a financial incentive would make the market much more accurate in it's 'predictions'.
I think it'd take some of the fun out of it for me, jumping straight to H$1.7B, but I hope you find an offer that satisfies you.
