Eh, worth reading her comments rather than dismissing them IMO. It should be no surprise that some Asian people don't want to see movies
about one or two white people saving Asians in a historical drama, especially when you consider the history of Europeans in Asia. And like she said, it's not about blame but about raising awareness of this issue.
Great Wall is an interesting one to discuss, because it's being made with Chinese money by a great Chinese director, but they still decided to go with a very Hollywood plot and got the biggest Holywood stars they could hire. My take is they want to appeal to everyone - the Chinese audience, the American audience and the rest-of-the-world audience - and this movie is going to be a big test of this strategy.
We've been heading in this direction for a while - Hollywood stars being focussed on being more popular in China, China edits for Hollywood movies, studios prioritizing movies with global appeal  (mostly action movies) over US appeal (comedies), etc - but this movie is levelling up that trend and we're probably going to see more of the same.
