$300M opening weekend is just a matter of time, and a short amount of time at that. History & inflation almost guarantee it.
Don't forget that it took 19 years for the opening weekend record to go from $23M (Return of the Jedi, 1983) to $114M (Spider-Man, 2002), but only 13 more years to get up to $257M (Avengers: Infinity War, 2018).
If the $300M barrier isn't broken this year, with Endgame or SW IX, then logic and inflation dictates within a year or 2. (FWIW, I think the runtime on Endgame will preclude the possibility of a $300M weekend, so maybe SW IX has a better chance.)
