the teaser trailer had 30M views, so there’s certainly going to be interest. ID2 had 25M views, but barely crossed $100M.

some of that is because it was a bad film, but a lot is because it waited too long to come out.

trailer views aren't enough though. cinema so much more than ever is about timing.

TG2 just needs to focus on making a good film. one that the youth will come out to see for the action, and reviewed highly enough for nostalgia crowd to get their butts in the seats to reminisce.

so, imho TG2s timing to the market is questionable, Heights is much more strategic in an election year. they will market the hell out of this film as a voice for the people, unity, diversity while doing so by telling the story through (good) music.
