Not really. If a TV series doesn't catch an audience in the first few episodes its doomed. After that its a steady decline in viewers.
At least with the traditional broadcast shows, with streaming I have no clue. They have different criteria and seem to want more shorter duraction shows for reviewing than trying to produce as many seasons for as long as the audience lasts.
