Regardless of what the studios do, I don't think movie theaters will be shutting down in NYC again anytime soon.

Seems like our new mayor is keeping in close communication with the governor and the two are working together, which was not what was happening in 2020 or half of 2021... I really like the new mayor a lot. He definitely seems to have all of the people of NYC in mind, the underrepresented, the small businesses... he just did a press conference from a few blocks away from me in Chinatown and I liked what I heard. He's also working hard to keep businesses open so that people who need to work (like those at movie theaters) can continue to do so. It will involve vaccines and masking mandates (which have been in place for months) but I'm optimistic that the curve will start flattening soon so that NYC theaters can keep going.
