I had watched the movie three times before seeing it in a theater and somehow I missed that the entire movie is a flashback after the opening WWI scene so I was definitely a bit confused almost every time I saw it that the guy shot at the beginning was the young Edward in most of the movie. Not sure how I missed that important part of the movie ... not once but three times!
