My Full Summer Pick Five Prediction Column- Now that my entry's in for the Summer Pick Em..
Oh, the fun of Summer.. My picks for the top five box office winners..
1. Doctor Stange 2
The momentum of Spiderman NYH alone, is enough to open historic big. Film also has a "Iron Man" like path to capture big numbers thu May.
2. Jurassic World Dominion
A true toss up between this and "Thor 4", but the promise of this being the last JP film in marketing (we shall see if that's true) gives it a slight edge.
3. Thor: Love And Thunder
Marvel is Summer gold, and this film faces little competition in the late July/August frame. Numbers will be very solid as film plays the long game.
4. Top Gun Maverick
Yes it will over-perform and yes, it will give Tom Cruise his biggest opening ever. Early sceenings of film have all been spectuacular in response, and film will win the coveted Memorial Day Weekend slate easily.
5. Minions: The Rise Of Gru
Upset alert. All the factors are in place for Minions to beat Disney's "Lightyear" as the franchise continues to gain steam. "Lightyear's" marketing campaign has also been un-even and lacking in scope.
