They probably want to wait to see how the ad-supported tier plays out first.
Not to mention attempting exclusive theatrical releases for their blockbusters before streaming and week-to-week releases for their shows, particularly newer shows (I'm not sure if these strategies are confirmed yet, but there have been rumors, at least from what I've read).
Ultimately, though, if Netflix shareholders aren't happy with its performance under these new strategies, then that would spell doom for Netflix leadership.
