Voting over the trailer is also moronic. But hey, I am just asking if anyone knows what's actually going on whenever some larger group of
people obviously are targeting a flick, for some reason. Your suggestion could perhaps be valid - or someone else has another explanation which makes even more sense. We'll see. (I'm just kinda applying scientific principles here - it was a really marked trend with Twilight: New Moon. I hadn't really expected it for the Karate Kid, though.)
Also remember, the effect of Imdb ratings on movie goers on OW is probably negligible at best (which makes it even harder to understand why dufuses are doing pile-ons, concerted or not, onto certain movies, which may or may not threaten some GFB movie they themselves love.)
