18 days from 1087ish "wide" 10/28. Unsure if there's going to be a filmmaker carve out or if Spielberg's The Post comments come into play.
He notably didn't make his "I wish more people could have seen it" comments about WEST SIDE STORY which likely couldn't collapse theatrical window due to the HBO deal. Also depends if Universal is going to quickly push it into 2000/3000 on 12/2 or 12/9. Obviously the 17 day clock started ticking at 1000 for TAR but if it is 600 on 11/23 on FABELMANS, exhibitors are not going to be enthusastic about booking it to 2000-3000 if it's going to be on Peacock 12/23
TAR was $39,655 in 4, it went up slightly in weekend 2 in 4 to $45,375 (Columbus Day Weekend) {nm} Nov 13, 08:14
Banshees of Inisherin was $46,114 and it averaged $2,298 when it went wide with 895 theaters. Nov 13, 08:22
Has a $40 million budget, I'd imagine Universal will at least give Spielberg a 35 day PVOD window from 11-23 ala NOPE. {nm} Nov 13, 08:36
I would hope they'd wait until after XMas for VOD but Peacock definitely needs help. {nm} Nov 13, 09:01
TAR on VOD Tuesday. Nov 13, 09:20
there's like 10 minutes of actual music in 2 hr 30 min movie about classical music! {nm} Nov 13, 09:44
