I think the timing of Christmas this year hurt streaming #'s [more shopping days] (2020 Xmas was on Friday, 2021 Xmas on Saturday) but...
if there is not a giant jump in performance (i.e. substantially better than the 50% increase of DLU) in the full week #'s (will be released next Tuesday) it will not be unfair for Netflix to conclude that their theatrical experiement as it was configured was not a success as it did not measurably increase #'s over their token theatrical releases.
Obviously there are several things they could adjust going forward (more theatres, longer theatrical run) if they want to consider more experiments that could lead to better #'s, but word is that the exhibitors feel used and unappreciated by how Netflix answered media questions about it (which well, they were and are).
