It'll need to blow the doors off at SDCC like DISTRICT 9 did to have a shot. It'll also run the risk of feeling "small" after FASTX and TRANSFORMERS this Summer (but on the upside will be able to target those crowds).
An argument could be made that if it is actually good, they should have held to October where it could have gotten large format screens, but RUSH with Ron Howard and Chris Hemsworth absolutely bombed in late September.
Unless OPPENHEIMER totally bombs, unlikely any IMAX screens open up at least until August 18th
