RPK's following (324.4k) dwarfs Sneider (44k). newbie Toast is about 49k I think and has gone exclusively pay scoops. That said.....
Sneider has been complaining about not making any money at all, and the $1.00 scoops should at least bring him in a low hundreds a month if he lands fanboy-ish scoops, which is probably what The HotMic generates in ad revenue split between him and Rocha.
If he wants to really build a rabid fan community, then the buy me a coffee thing is not going to do it but he can experiment with it, maybe offering them a free edition of his full newsletter every once in awhile will convert some to that, the Patreon/Discord thing for DanielRPK seems to be working for him, but there's not really any articles/profiles of him rolling around like a FinTwit infuencer or something in a Ferrari, so I doubt he's making THAT much off it.
