Lucas has said he wants to make non-narrative films that no one will ever see. But he's changed his mind on a number of stances over time
For a bit he had said that after he was gone, he wanted Star Wars and Indiana Jones to go with him, no new projects, obviously the sale to Disney ensures that won't happen.
Hopefully he does allow the films he's working on to one day be released, because they would at least be interesting.
