He also saw the ads on CBS. But my friends only saw the 30s TV ads twice.

Posted by: Peterlee (a.k.a Peterlee (from past)) on Nov 09, 15:42 in response to Moviesnob's post Thanks!

One of them was from "Saturday Night Live"(NBC), other was fromĀ "CBS Sunday Morning"

My friend saw few TV ads during few other programming, but those were only 15s ads.

TN: DIe My Love $2.83 (and change) TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 07:07

Christy $1.305m... I'm quite surprised {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 07:40

It's Black Bear's first release. What kind of marketing can they do when everything's new. {nm} Antibody Nov 09, 07:44

They've done a TON. I was invited to multiple receptions with Sidney Sweeney going back months. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 07:55

Avg Joes don't attend receptions. They're starting socials from scratch. How much TV ads and billboards did they buy? {nm} Antibody Nov 09, 07:57

The idea is to get more journalists/critics excited about the movie to write about it... cheaper than TV ads TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 07:59

Maybe they should've waited until she got some award noms before going wide. {nm} Antibody Nov 09, 08:00

Maybe but I doubt that was gonna happen. She's good, but the movie itself is mediocre TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 08:02

It’s currently sitting at 67% on RT. Not good for an Oscar hopeful. Jay_Bling Nov 09, 13:25

honestly, that type of award stuff is as much for show as it is for pr. gotta make the talent and filmmakers happy {nm} Moviesnob Nov 09, 15:23

Also, movies that bait for an Oscar solely for its lead performance rarely turn out well. {nm} Jay_Bling Nov 09, 15:57

Golden Globes ang other less prestigious awards may want her at their show. nm Antibody Nov 09, 16:54

The Whale won Best Actor with RT 64% {nm} Andre C Nov 09, 18:53

Gives more hope for Jeremy Allen White for Springsteen. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 10, 01:31

And what did MGM do to get Sarah's Oil out there? I wouldn't even know that movie existed if I wasn't on HSX. {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 08:11

They targeted the faith-based audience. {nm} Antibody Nov 09, 08:18

Wonder Project is behind this, they also have a decent sized faith based hit on Amazon "House of David" they generally work with Lionsgate {nm} notfabio Nov 09, 08:39

they do digital ads for avod and svod now for a movie like this not linear although it may have been worth it in hindsight to buy an ad Moviesnob Nov 09, 11:08

My friend saw few TV ads on NBC, ABC and FOX. Peterlee Nov 09, 15:14

Thanks! {nm} Moviesnob Nov 09, 15:23

What does starting social from scratch have to do with anything? I got a ton of digital ads for it Moviesnob Nov 09, 10:42

Social media is free when you have your own followers. You have to pay for ads. n. Antibody Nov 09, 12:08

Yeah but paid ads are hyper targeted. It's not as good as it used to be but better than just outreach to your followers {nm} Moviesnob Nov 09, 13:56

I feel like I got targetted for all of the movies except Sarah's Oil though maybe I got a few cause I was talking to Shawn Edwards about it TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 12:10

Surprised more people don't want to win a pink BMW convertible... TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 12:49

My friend also saw Sarah's Oil TV ads in some cable channels like OWN and HGTV {nm} Peterlee Nov 09, 18:52

SAOIL $4,458,000 {nm} Antibody Nov 09, 07:45

PRED6 $40M {nm} Antibody Nov 09, 07:52

Biggest opening for the franchise and could give NYSM3 and Running Man some competition next weekend {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 08:00

movies are back baby {nm} mr teriffic Nov 09, 09:19

Nurember $4 million {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 08:12

So Predator, Sarah's Oil and Nuremberg OWs are long, Christy and Die My Love OWs are a short {nm} TheWeekendWarrior Nov 09, 08:13

Thank you. This is the only information I was looking for and I didn't want to read that whole exchange. {nm} ndmaster Nov 10, 07:41
