> So Who Saw What Last Week? (me - The Education of Charlie Banks: A-, "Torchwood, Children of Earth": A-, Sex Drive: B-)

The Education of Charlie Banks: What a nice surprise, as I was not expecting a film by Fred Durst (Limp Bizkit) to be this intelligent and moving. Film is awkward and uneasy at times, with an almost indie-lite version of The Talented Mr. Ripley feel to it (one character is a dead ringer forĀ  Jude Law's "Dickie" role), but its that uncomfortableness that kept me interested.

Torchwood Children of Earth: I'd only seen 2 episodes before watching this miniseries (but as a dr. who fan i was familiar with the premise), but anyone can jump into this 5 episode season without much knowledge. You have to love a show that will put its characters into impossible situations, and also take its leads from good to evil and all points in between. Maybe padded out a little (it seemed to take Capt. Jack a long time to figure out the threat), but some powerful moments are powerful.

Sex Drive: (rated version) Tasteless and juvenile (thus not for all tastes!) but of its kind, its one of the funnier ones. Seth Green as a sarcastic Amish, and Clark Duke as a chubby ladies man, steal the show (and Duke, I see, is in several upcoming movies, which should be good, he's like a Zach Galifinakis/Jonah Hill type dude, (but not as annoying as Hill). Watch the rated version, then you could probably skip (or just fast forward) the unrated version actually: its just outtakes and fart noises edited in, and then random male and female nudity inserted throughout.
