We converted to the current StarBond system in October, 2001. Virtually ALL of the rules implemented at that time are still
in place, and the StarBond market is not broken...does not need fixing.
The only real change in the interim was the limitation of 20K shares, down from 50K shares (and up from the original 500 shares in the old system, where THANK had a StarBond valued at over 4K and needed 3 bombs in a row to adjust)
The purpose of the cap was to try to limit the effect of a HUGE mega-hit on the rest of the TAG. Remember, TITAN was only a few years before that. Of course, just after the changeover, we had HPOTT, LRDRN and STAR2 within about 7 months, all with large casts of small valued StarBonds. (DRADC, RCOLT, CCOLU, PJACK, SASTI, VMORT, HCHRI, NPORT, etc.) For you younger, newer players, imagine 3 TWILT franchises at one time, where you could invest 2 1/2 times the amount in StarBonds that you do now. Then again, my port was 1/18 the size that it is now. (and I had more hair too)
why does a starbond only adjust to a maximum of 250 and not it's de-list price or at least 300 just curious {nm} Dec 15, 17:07
